1 Corinthians 15:56-58(NLT)
56 For sin is the sting that results in the death, and the law gives sin it's power.
57 But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 So my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.
Hi Family, Rejoice in the Lord always, in the valley rejoice, on the mountain rejoice, when you don't understand, know your victory is set in Him. Sing a new song from your heart to the Lord, for the Lord is good.
Notes:
He overcame the grave to save humanity, so sing hallelujah Jesus is Alive. So clap your hands in victory.
Verse 56- A sting is a pointed organ at the end of an insect capable of inflicting pain by injecting poison into the body and can lead to death.
In the beginning, which can be found in the old testament, laws and rules where given and it's purpose was used to tell you what you are to do and not supposed to do, it also carried or came with the consequence of your action, either a blessing or a curse.
Verse 57- This verse let's us know through the death of our Lord Jesus Christ we have victory over sin and death.
He came not to abolish the law but to accomplish the purpose of the law. Meaning he came to fulfill the reason why it was created - Matthew 5:17(NLT).
Our Lord Jesus is the Son of God who came into the earth taking the form of flesh which is man, He came to be an example to show us how to live as Sons and Daughters of God and how to have a relationship with our Heavenly Father.
However the most important thing is He came to pay the price for our salvation. The atonement for sin is death, you would note in the old testament the people offered sacrifices for remission of sins. It was done yearly at specific places with specific instructions, continuously in a man's life.
The good news is we don't have to do this anymore!
Jesus came to die for us and paid the price, a living sacrifice once and for all. He took upon himself our sins and was nailed to the cross. He represents you and I.
That's not all, He ressurected from the dead and revealed Himself to His disciples and followers, charging them to share the good news. Now He is seated with and at the right hand of God the Father.
This means, He is a living sacrifice, so anyone who believes in Him, becomes born again. You receive a new life in Christ, your past is gone, you've been given a new spirit.
However your mind is being renewed daily, that's why you're asked to spend time with Him so he directs you on the right path.
The Holy Spirit who is the consciousness or mind of God comes to dwell within you, the moment you receive Jesus as Lord, and He guides you in Truth, Wisdom and helps you to walk out and become more like him.
So anytime you sin, or make mistakes, you can pray to Him and He would forgive you and teach you how to be better.
This also means you have victory over sin and death. So when the trumpet sounds those who are dead would be raised to live for ever in a new body. And those who are alive will also be transformed to bodies that would never die- 1 Corinthians 15 explains more.
Yes Indeed our Saviour would be coming back to the earth again.
Verse 58- Is our encouragement to persist in doing the work of the Lord, there would be challenges, persecution, but we are to be strong and immovable, no work we do is useless.
The Lord sees and gives us strength to walk it out. Jesus died to win the victory for us, so when you do your work, purpose or calling do it from a place of knowing you are victorious in Christ Jesus.
Prayer:
May the Lord bless you and keep you, may His face shine upon you and be gracious to you, may the Lord turn His face towards you and give you peace. Amen.
If you want to receive Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, pray with me, Dear Jesus, I repent of my sins, come into my heart, I make you my Lord and Saviour, I believe you died on the cross to reconcile me back to you. I receive your love and new life. Amen.
You are free indeed let no one tell you otherwise, in Christ you are who God has created you to be, bold, courageous, blessed, annointed, smart and victorious.
Walk in freedom!
