Some few more days to Christmas. Not to forget this is a new day the Lord has made, filled with many surprises you can't miss. He woke us up with love and I want us to worship and give thanks to Him as we enjoy our day.

Let's pray:

Father we love you, we honour you and lift your name high. We thank you for your bread, open our eyes to see and ears to hear. Let your sweet breath flow in us, Amen.

Welcome Fam!

Today we would be in the book of Judges, this was the time before Israel had kings, I will be in chapter 11, let's break bread.

Judges 11:29(NLT)

29 At that time the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jephthah, and he went throughout the land of Gilead and Manasseh, including Mizpah in Gilead, and from there he led an army against the Ammonites.

Let's get a quick background of who Jephthah is. He is the son of Gilead, he is a great warrior and his mother a prostitute.

His half-brothers grew up and chased him of the Land, it's obvious they didn't like him and soon he had a band of rebels following him (is another thing to be able to lead rebels).

Funny enough just at that time, the Ammonites began war against Israel. Now the elders and people who chased him out now want him and need help.

They made him their leader.

Now if you read the text, he sends a message or a reply to the Ammonites King. It will make you laugh when you get the tone of his message but at the same time points or shows His reverence to God.

Another thing is, he places God at the center of authority (in verse 27) between them (the Ammonites king and himself). He says, "The Lord who is judge", some few verses before, he talks about God as the One who gives territory.

(Read the whole chapter you'll love it and you'll see another message)

My focus is verse 29, here, ”The Spirit of the Lord came upon" this means to encounter unexpectedly, suddenly, a surprise, to discover, find or meet.

Today I want you and I to know a sudden encounter of His Spirit, The Lord's Spirit, will come.

And for which purpose:

•He went:

To go with us, to walk with us, to strengthen and give us power to go forth, especially for those whose hopes have gone to sleep, a sudden revival and movement.

•He led:

To lead with you, to put you in front to lead others, to organise and direct, to set in motion, to be a means of access, to show the way.

This is our blessing, gift and assurance for this next step in our lives, He says He is here for you. You don't need to get everything right.

Let's pray:

Father we receive your word, we open our hearts to you, come upon us, walk with us and lead us, be our backbone and the Sovereign One in every area of our lives, we thank you, Amen.

Do you want to know Jesus, say with me:

Dear Jesus, come into my heart, i make you my Lord and Saviour, I repent of my sins, I believe you died on the cross to reconcile me back to God, I receive your love and new life, Amen!

Suddenly, be expectant! He is here! 🥰😆
