Judges 14:5-9(NLT)

5 As Samson and his parents were going down to Timnah, a young lion suddenly attacked Samson near the vineyards of Timnah.

6 At that moment the Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon him, and he ripped the lion's jaws apart with his bare hands. He did it as easily as if it were a young goat. But he didn't tell his father or mother about it.

7 When Samson arrived in Timnah, he talked with the woman and was very pleased with her.

8 Later when he returned to Timnah for the wedding, he turned of the path to look at the carcass of the lion. And he found that a swarm of bees had made some honey in the carcass.

9 He scooped some of the honey into his hands and ate it along the way. He also gave some to his father and mother, and they ate it. But he didn't tell them he had taken the honey from the carcass of the lion.

Good morning, let's begin, our study today:

Verse 5-

I became interested in knowing why the lion attacked at that place, "close to the vieneyard of Timnah".

Timnah in hebrew has two interesting meanings, to restrain or hold back and it also means allotted portion or given territory.

That speaks to strongholds or dry areas in your life or places and seats which are yours that the enemy is sitting on. Example; in a place of joy and abundance, you will see sadness, depression and lack.

Going back to the scripture, it's a young lion, the word young, symbolises a beginning stage, the starting period of growth or early years.

Now let's put all this together and you see a hidden picture, which points to the attack that comes, or you experience, when you are on the verge of entering your promise or expected blessing.

The attack comes in different forms, it can be opposition, it can be betrayal, it can be loss, but the end goal is to cause you to cower, to detain or restrain you from entering.

Verse 6-

The Spirit of the Lord brings deliverance, in the moment of battle the Lord appears and gives us strength. When we can't hold on and our hands begin to loose its grip, he swoops down and rescues you.

It can be a lion of depression, thoughts saying you failed or you lost, thoughts coming to question the Word God has given you.

In those places you see God tearing apart the jaws of the lion. You might ask why the jaws of the lion?

The jaw is the framework of the mouth containing the teeth, which allows speech, the lion always roars to signify and mark his territory by sending sound waves across the land to deter others.

Remember you have a sound too, God has placed in you a sound, your own unique language, gifts, skills, intellect, creativity, strategy and more. So when the enemy comes to contend with your sound of praise.

God rips those jaws, He is saying, He is giving you dominion over every territory, blessing and healing ordained for you.

Thank you Lord, use some few minutes or seconds to thank God for His Sovereignty.

•Verse 7-

You will arrive at where, God is sending you, you will create and you will receive what He has blessed you with.

•Verse 8-

When you look back at a battle, you find honey. Yes, honey represents wisdom, insights and deeper understanding, God gives to you after, He has helped you conquer the battle a harvest. Some insights he gives to you in the heat of the battle.

These insights are precious, for it is a vital resource for the journey ahead.

Verse 9-

You would use the insights gained or the skills developed from your trails in the place He positions you and on the way to do what he has called you to.

Testimony:

Finally God sees you, just last night I was facing thoughts that caused me to shrink, I was beginning to feel weak, I was not seeing any hope for a promise of healing. My promise to myself was to end the day with joy, but on the last hour before I slept it became more difficult to hold unto joy, I begun to cry, as I felt myself loose grip and the negative thoughts and feeling of hiding was gaining momentum. He brought me out, he ripped the vocal chords of the negative spirits, silence, I didn't hear their voices again. I slept soundly and woke up with joy today ☺.

Prayer:

Thank you Lord for seeing us and fighting for us. We love your father. We thank you for your wisdom and insight you give us. Through it all we would trust you. Praise and honour we give to your Name Amen.

I invite you to make Jesus the Lord of your life, say with me, Dear Jesus, I repent of my sins, I open my heart to you to come in, I believe you died and rose again to reconcile me back to you. Teach me your ways and renew my mind. Thank you for your love, Amen!

Rejoice for the Lord is good! He is the King of Kings.
