Good morning family, the rains have begun at my part of the world. It's a bit chilly yet cozy. Makes you want to sleep extra. God is good, let us rejoice for we are alive, He loves us and takes care of us. He is our Father! He is our God!
Dear Lord, we thank you for today's bread, help us to apply it practically and daily, let you voice be the only sound we hear, we love you, Amen.
Let's break bread:
Numbers 15:37-41(NLT)
TASSELS ON CLOTHING
37 Then the Lord said to Moses,
38 "Give the following instructions to the people of Israel: Throughout the generations to come you must make tassels for the hems of your clothing and attach them with a blue cord.
39 When you see the tassels, you will remember and obey all the commands of the Lord instead of following your own desires and defiling yourselves, as you are prone to do.
40 The tassels will help you remember that you must obey all my commands and be holy to your God.
41 I am the Lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt that I might be your God. I am the Lord your God!
Notes:
1.What are tassels?
•Its a tuft of loosely hanging threads or cords knotted at one end and attached for decoration to soft furnishing, clothing or other items.
•An interesting thing to note is tassels are formed at the top or head of corn plants. Pollen forms on the tassel of a corn plant because the tassel is the male reproductive part of the plant, specifically designed to promote, hold, and release pollen for fertilization.
2.Why the need?
•It reminds us of God's word
•It increases our fath by producing seeds of faith.
•It supports our faith in God by holding the promise in front of us, helping us to hold the pregnancy and prevent us from aborting the mission.
•It encourages us to birth, to take bold steps, to reach forward.
•It helps us create an awareness of His presence.
3. What are Modern Day Tassels?
They are things we do, words we spark, creative items and physical writings we keep in front of us.
Examples:
•Your wallpaper or lock screen on your phone, tablets or computer is a place which you can design words, scriptures or promises. This you can see first thing when you take your phone, to remind you.
•Your journal or work note book, to have highlighted messages of who you are, written down and sticky side notes as markers.
•Home wall hangings. To have those words at your dining room or table as a form of decoration but a powerful tool to push you forward, it can be a picture frame in the kitchen, at the entrance to your home, in your bedroom.
•Mini bedside picture frames, throw pillows, customized mugs or coffee flask, customized shirts, stickers, hats or caps, socks or handkerchiefs or office desk pen holder.
The are many more beautiful ways of creating reminders to keep your faith burning.
Categories:
•Words about your identity, who God says you are.
•Who God is.
•Testimonies.
•Promises He has spoken to you about and you are expecting.
•"I can do" words and "I Am" words.
•Words of praise and thanks.
•Finally feel free and design anything God has layed on your heart.
Have fun!
Let's pray:
Father thank you, help us keep the goals, visions, promises, who you say we are and who you are, clear in front of our eyes. Be the fire that burns the passion within us alive, we love you, Amen.
Do you want to know Jesus, the keeper of our faith and the King of Kings, if yes say with me:
Dear Jesus, be my Keeper and my King, come into my heart, I make you my Lord and Saviour, I repent of my sins, I believe you died on the cross to reconcile me back to God, I receive your love and new life, Amen!
He loves you! He is going to walk with you till the very end!
