Matthew 5:1 (NLT)- One day as he saw the crowds gathering Jesus went up to the mountainside and sat down. His disciples gathered around Him.
I thank God for your life and the great plans He has for you. He loves you and sees you. He knows you by name, your history, your present and your future. He hears your thoughts and sees your tears, the confusion, frustration, anger and tiredness.
You may say if He sees it why doesn't He do anything about it?
Today, I have come to tell you the Lord is good and His mercies endures forever. He waits for you, in the scripture you can see that Jesus saw them from afar coming to Him and He got up and went up the mountain.
You would wonder why climb up a mountain, why not below ground wher I can easily reach.
The mountain top is a different environment, one it's close to the heavens seperate from the mundane things on the earth, this means there is less of the worldly noise that influences you.
Second, the air that circulates at the mountain top is a fresh clean wind, unpolluted or contaminated, it's clear and rejuvenated your spirit.
Some medical practitioners advice some patients to be in such environments to clear out their lungs, it improves breathing and oxygen circulation. There is a higher percentage of oxygen, which gives life.
There is life in His presence. The third thing you note is He sits, when someone is approaching you and you sit down it's a posture that shows ready to listen, to communicate, to bond and it signals to the person that you want to spend time with them.
If you are in a situation that no one can answer, talk to Him, invite Him into your problem and release your expectation of how you want the problem to be solved and just let him surprise you. He is eager to help. One thing you must note is Jesus is a gentleman, He would not barge in or invade when He has not be invited.
I personally invite Him anytime I feel stuck, annoyed, depressed, sad or joyful, He has a way of taking burdens off me and adding to my joy. I see it in the little moments.
Example, I was late for work and was hoping to get a bus that goes straight to work, it was an internal communication, the moment I got to the junction, I got a bus headed straight to work, it usually would have taken two buses,it was just refreshing and I got to save money.
The last thing is to gather around Him, don't be in a rush to leave His presence, sit and learn. He speaks but you need to unplug from the distractions like social media to hear His voice.
You can begin in the morning before you pick your phone speak to Him and breathe in His presence, He wants to speak to you.
Heavenly Father, hallowed be your Name, your kingdom come and your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, open our eyes to see you at work on our lives and open our ears to hear your voice above any other intrusive voice. I thank you for your love in Jesus Name Amen.
