Hi fam, this is the day the Lord has made, it's sunday and I am excited to go to the house of the Lord.
I'm Elizabeth, for those who don't know me, I am your sister in Christ. We have an awesome Heavenly Father who has laid before us, breakfast to last the whole day.
Let's give thanks:
Dear Lord, thank you for this bread, your word, let our hearts be healed and nourished and filled with strength, passion and intension. Plant new seeds of ideas and let it bear good fruit, we love you Father, Amen.
Let's eat:
1 Corinthians 9:22-27(NLT)
22 When I am with those who are weak, I share their weakness, for I want to bring the weak to Christ. Yes I try to find common ground with everyone, doing everything I can to save some.
23 I do everything to spread the Good News and share in its blessings.
24 Don't you realise that in a race everyone runs but only one person gets the prize. So run to win!
25 All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize.
26 So I run with purpose in every step. I am not fighting like a boxer beating the air.
27 I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.
Let take notes:
• Our question is:
How do I build relationships with people and run my race without the following elements; speed and the need to people please.
• Answers:
• Have a common ground with everyone. To meet people where they need you most and share a blessing. Not to only seek help for your problems but to help solve other problems.
Your solutions are the Good News. Let your actions in this relationship draw people to Christ. This doesn't mean preaching to them, but it is to let your actions and your life be a statement.
To be fully yourself, to be authentically yourself and to bring your uniqueness into the room. God gave you, your personality, ideas, crazy style, goofy-loud laughter because it is needed. Be the influence, become the change agent. Honour the culture but don't let it define who you are.
•Your race, run it with purpose in every step, not speed or busyness or power driven. Run with intention, with a vision and legacy in mind. With a goal in mind. Always bring your heart to the Lord. Every goal you set for your life, bring it before Him, let Him bless it and give you the needed strength and resources.
Also if He advises you to reconsider the goal be obedient and change direction. So you don't waste time boxing the air.
•How do I know it's God?
God doesn't contradict Himself, He doesn't say one thing today and then another tomorrow. If He gave you a word or you believe you received a word from Him, test it through prayer and His word found in your bible. Every promise is backed by scripture. God doesn't breed chaos. Even if you receive a contradictory message from a pastor, family member or mentor, test it all in prayer and hold on to His word for your life. Prophecy is to confirm what God has already spoken to you.
Father we receive your love, guide our hearts and give us wisdom in our walk, let every word of promise you've given come to fruition and the plans of the enemy who comes to steal the promises from our hearts be destroyed. Let your Spirit abide with us daily, Amen.
If you want to receive Jesus, the One whose blood rewrites our destiny and makes our crooked paths straight, say with me:
Dear Jesus, come into my heart, I make you my Lord and Saviour, I repent of my sins, I believe you died on the cross to reconcile me back to God, I receive your love and new life, Amen.
You've got this, God loves you.
