Good morning family, it's wonderful to have you here, let's bless the name of the Lord together, for He is good and His mercies endures for ever.

Let's break bread; today our message is don't look back, I thank you Lord for opening our heart to receive and for wisdom to do. Amen.

Notes:

•A request for direction:

In every area of our lives, we ask God for direction on, what to do. This is to allow us to be fruitful and flourishing. It saves as time and money. Most importantly we get to let God lead us and back us.

Jeremiah 42:3-4(NLT)

3 Pray that the Lord your God will show us what to do and where to go."

4 "All right," Jeremiah replied. "I will pray to the Lord your God, as you have asked, and I will tell you everything he says. I will hide nothing from you.

A promise to fulfill it:

We promise to walk in it. We know the plans He has for us are good, so we agree before the answer arrives. To walk in obedience. Sometimes we are desperate for the answer we don't pay attention to the requirements. But it's okay. To walk it out, He would lead us, give us strength and boldness.

Jeremiah 42:5-6(NLT)

5 Then they said to Jeremiah, "May the Lord your God be a faithful witness against us if we refuse to obey whatever he tells us to do!

6 Whether we like it or not, we will obey the Lord our God to whom we are sending you with our plea. For if we obey him, everything will turn out well for us.

•His promises to us:

The Lord promises not to leave us but go with us, he wants us to flourish in His courts and the most unlikely places.

Jeremiah 42:9-12(NLT)

9 He said to them, "You sent me to the Lord, the God of Israel, with your request, and this is his reply:

10 Stay here in this land. If you do, I will build you up and not tear you down; I will plant you and not uproot you. For I am sorry about all the punishment I have had to bring upon you.

11 Do not fear the king of Babylon anymore, says the Lord. 'For I am with you and I will save you and rescue you from his power.

12 I will be merciful to you by making him kind, so he will let you stay here in your land'.

Warning:

Do not go back! It may seem simple but it's important. When the promise doesn't look like what we imagined, we are not to turn back, we are not to remain stagnant but to trust Him.

If we don't, we would not flourish, we would be stuck in the prisons of Egypt. If you feel, to walk with the Lord requires too much and you want to give up, I would plead with you to keep the faith and I pray strength arises in you.

It takes work to be great. He doesn't come to condemn you but to help you grow.

It's okay to feel scared and confused. Remember He loves you and is on your side. Anytime you feel like shrinking back ask Him to help you. He understands and you are not alone.

Jeremiah 42:13-16(NLT)

13 But if you refuse to obey the Lord your God, and if you say, 'We will not stay here;

14 instead, we will go to Egypt where we will be free from wear, the call to arms and hunger,'

15 then hear the Lord's message to the remnant of Judah. This is what the Lord of Heaven's Armies, the God of Israel, says: 'If you are determined to go to Egypt and live there,

16 the very war and famine you fear will catch up to you, and you will die there.

Prayer:

Thank you Lord for your word, we believe, we will obey, we will follow you. Stifle every desire to shrink back and give us boldness and instruction. Thank you Father in Jesus Name Amen.

If you want to receive Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, say with me, Dear Lord Jesus, I repent of my sins, come into my heart, I make you my Lord and Saviour. I believe you came to die for me, to reconcile me back to God. I receive your Love and new life. Amen.
