Praise the Lord!
Nehemiah 6:1-9(NLT)
1 Sanballat, Tobiah, Geshem the Arab, and the rest of our enemies found out that I had finished rebuilding the wall and that no gaps remained- though we had not yet set up the doors in the gates.
2 So Sanballat and Geshem sent a message asking me to meet them at one of the villages in the plain of Ono. But I realised they were plotting to harm me,
3 so I replied by sending this message to them: "I am engaged in a great work, so I can't come. Why should I stop working to come and meet with you?
4 Four times they sent the same message, and each time I gave the same reply.
5 The fifth time, Sanballat's servants came with an open letter in his hand,
6 and this what is said: "There is a rumour among the surrounding nations, and Geshem tells me it is true, that you and the Jews are planning to rebel and that is why you are building the wall. According to his reports, you plan to be their king.
7 He also reports that you have appointed prophets in Jerusalem to proclaim about you, 'Look! There is a king in Judah!" "You can be very sure that this report will get back to the king, so I suggest that you come and talk it over with me."
8 I replied, "There is no truth in any part of your story. You are making up the whole thing."
9 "They were just trying to intimidate us, imagining that they could discourage us and stop the work. So I continued the work with even greater determination.
Good morning, a blessed day to you, there is only one Name with the power to save, our God He is Champion and He reigns forever more! Let's give Him worship for every praise belongs to our God.
He says, we are not to fear! For He is with us and He will take care of us.
Do not be afraid or intimidated by the opposition keep moving in His ways and let Him lead your path.
Nehemiah 7:3(NLT)
3 I said to them, "Do not leave the gates open during the hottest part of the day. And even while the gatekeepers are on duty, have them shut and bar the doors. Appoint the residents of Jerusalem to act as guards, everyone on a regular watch. Some will serve at sentry posts and some in front of their own homes."
We are warned to guard our gates, it is to guard our five senses, to be careful of what we take in, ideas, information, opinions and way of living.
The eye gate is what you see, watch, read, it's visual ingesting of information or words that carry seeds.
The ear gate, the words we hear, the opinions of others, or advice people give, which carry seeds into our hearts.
The mouth gate, is taste, appetite, cravings, desires and wants.
The nose gate, is smells, scents, environment you are attracted to.
The touch gate, is relationships, who you allow into close proximity with you, your circle of friends and influence.
We are to be careful and guard them. Listen to the Holy Spirit when he points out the ones you leave open in your negligence.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank you for building us daily, we thank you for your covering and strength in the face of opposition. We ask your Holy Spirit to lead us and help us guard our gates from the enemies seeds and every form of influence that is not Yours. We are grateful for your love and mercy, in Jesus Name.
I invite you to make Jesus the Lord of your life, if you don't know Him, say with me, Dear Lord Jesus, come into my heart, I repent of my sins, I make you my Lord and Saviour. I thank you for your love. Please teach me to be more like you and less of me. In your Name we pray Amen.
Shout and praise the Lord! He has done it again!
