A Promise of Restoration

Jeremiah 31:1-6(NLT)

1 In that day, "says the Lord " I will be the God of all the families of Israel and they will be my people.

2 This is what the Lord says: "Those who survive the coming destruction will find blessings even in the barren land, for I will give rest to the people of Israel. "

3 Long ago the Lord said to Israel: " I have loved you, my people, with an everlasting love. With unfailing love I have drawn you to myself.

4 I will rebuild you, my virgin Israel. You will again be happy and dance merrily with your tambourines.

5 Again you will plant your vineyards on the mountains of Samaria and eat from your own gardens there.

6 The day will come when watch men will shout from the hill country of Ephraim, 'Come let us go up to Jerusalem to worship the Lord our God.

Jeremiah 31:20-22(NLT)

20 Is not Israel still my son, my darling child? says the Lord. "I often have to punish him, but I still love him. That's why I long for him and surely will have mercy on him.

21 Set up road signs; put up guide posts. Mark well the path by which you came. Come back again, my virgin Israel; return to your towns here.

22 How long will you wander, my wayward daughter? For the Lord will cause something new to happen- Israel will embrace her God."

Jeremiah 31:26(NLT)

26 At this, I woke up and looked around. My sleep had been very sweet.

Good morning, news of great joy we have received, I want us to believe, because it's already begun.

Note:

"I long for... "

What does it mean when the Father says He "longs for"...

It means to look forward to with a feeling of expectation, a strong desire to find, to see, to have, to love. It's love that draws near, a love ready to embrace. It's a yearning for something, especially when distant and this is your Heavenly Father's expression towards you.

Reminds me of the story of the prodigal son, whose Father looked across the field, looking unto the road his son will come back from, with expectation he looks. The moment he gets a glimpse of his son, He runs to him with joy, kisses him on the cheek, clothes him, puts a ring on his finger, slaughters the sheep he has been fattening all this while for him. (Love, covering, authority, provision and more)

Message is, restoration, promises, fruitfulness, multiplication has all begun.

Prayer:

Father we thank you, you're so beautiful to us, we lift your name above the earth, let your kingdom be established in our praises, as your people declare your mighty works, blessed be the Lord God Almighty who reigns for ever more, Amen.

If you feel far from your father, I invite you home, say with me, Dear Father, I am here, I repent of my sins, I believe you sent your son Jesus to die for me, I recieve him as my Lord and saviour, I recieve your love. In Jesus Name Amen.

Father is expectant and can't wait to shower you with all the love, He has always wanted to give. Don't give up! It's already begun.
